Pharmacist-in-Charge for The Specialty Pharmacy Holyoke Medical Center ? Pharmacy Holyoke, MA ManagementFull Time, 40, day shift, Monday - Friday Req # 10122 ProxsysRx is currently recruiting a Pharmacist-in-Charge for The Specialty Pharmacy at Holyoke Medical Center. The Pharmacist-in-Charge ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for The Specialty Pharmacy. The Pharmacist-in-Charge must also adhere to accreditation standards within the operational space to ensure integrity of expensive and rare medications upon delivery to patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accountable for management, oversight and operations of all aspects within the pharmacy consistent with professional, ethical, and legal standards of proper pharmacy practice. Responsible for the supervision of pharmacy staff involved in the pharmacy workflow including hiring, training, data entry, verification and dispensing of medications. Responsible for drug purchasing and inventory control of the pharmacy. Ensure that billing & remittance documents are completed in an accurate and time-sensitive manner. Meets with pharma representatives and maintains knowledge of therapeutics, pricing and patient assistance programs. Monitor and make recommendations to fulfillment staff on inventory management. Assist in the development of a management reporting dashboard. Creates ad hoc reports for management. Addresses HCP pharmaceutical issues and drug information questions. Ensures the literacy level of patient information appropriate for consumers. Ensures annual review and update of patient education materials as necessary. Develops and implements patient and medication therapy management programs. Review, edit and approve all marketing and web-site information prior to publication. Ensures that qualified clinicians are accountable to the organization for decisions affecting consumers. Maintain Quality Assurance tracking program. Ensure confidentiality of patient information and their records, and destruction of relevant documentation which contains patient information. Perform all tasks in a safe and compliant manner that is consistent with corporate policies as well as State and Federal laws. Work collaboratively with other pharmacies/staff and upper level management team. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Minimum of 2 years of relevant specialty pharmacy experience. 1 year of supervisory Pharmacy Management experience preferred. Possession of a current unrestricted and valid pharmacist license in the state of Massachusetts. Controlled Substance license and Immunization certification preferred. Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and establish collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, clinical and administrative staff. Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex new software.
