Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Hollywood, South Carolina

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Hollywood, South Carolina. This role serves the Government industry where you will handle a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. As an Accounting Assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the efficiency of our office operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct data entry tasks with precision

• Support the Mayor's office through effective schedule management

• Oversee accounts payables and accounts receivables, ensuring all outstanding billings are addressed promptly

• Maintain office supplies inventory and order new supplies as needed

• Supervise office operations, ensuring smooth workflow

• Answer town hall phone line and redirect calls as necessary

• Perform additional office and accounting duties as assigned by the Mayor

• Utilize your skills in 'Data Entry', 'Accounts Payable (AP)', 'Accounts Receivable (AR)', 'Office Administration', 'Scheduling', 'Maintain Office Supplies', 'Accounting Entries' to complete your tasks effectively. Requirements • Proven experience of at least 3 years in an accounting assistant role or similar

• Comprehensive understanding of government accounting principles and procedures

• Proficiency in data entry tasks, with a keen attention to accuracy and detail

• Demonstrated experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management

• Solid experience in office administration, including scheduling and maintaining office supplies

• Familiarity with accounting entries and the ability to process them accurately

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is a plus

• Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and changes in government regulations.
