Description

Our dynamic entertainment client based in the heart of Hollywood, where creativity meets business excellence is currently seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team on a 12-month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations within the entertainment industry, working alongside talented professionals in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable:

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and authorization.

  • Prepare and perform weekly check runs or electronic payments as scheduled.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues.

  • Maintain organized vendor files and documentation for audit purposes.

  • Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and send customer invoices promptly and accurately, adhering to billing schedules.

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.

  • Record and reconcile customer payments received via various payment methods.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.

  • Bank and Account Reconciliations:

  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving any variances.

  • Prepare and review journal entries related to bank and account reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes as needed.

  • Financial Reporting Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses under the guidance of senior accounting staff.

  • Compile data and provide support for internal and external audits as required.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger reconciliations.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks or similar systems preferred).

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
