Stanley Black and Decker Shipping Office Assistant in Holliston, Massachusetts
Coordinates the shipping of finished goods. Routes freight; Processes SAP system transactions, Processes ASN’s for customers, maintains documentation. Provides support to the Customer Service Department and other LISTA departments. Provides support to external customers to ensure timely and accurate shipping of the customer’s order. Provides clerical and secretarial support for the Traffic Department. Also assists Purchasing Dept. for MRO and indirect buys and helps expedite orders when needed.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

4. Bring defective material to attention of supervisor.

Freight Routing
1. Checks to ensure that orders are complete. Resolves problems with missing and incomplete shipping instructions.
2. Checks for special customer instructions and follows them as necessary.
3. Chooses carriers based on designated shipping method and customer instructions.
4. Creates bill of lading (BOL) and commercial invoices from Lista orders on the computer. Checks the documents for correct number of pieces and other shipping info.
5 . Creates Post Good Issue transactions for orders in SAP
6. Prepares export documents as necessary.
7. Contacts carriers and schedules pick up. Resolves problems stemming from carrier/LISTA associations.
Documentation
1. Coordinates files of all orders pending to be shipped in an organized manner.
2. Processes ASN’s and other special customer requirements.
Internal & External Customer Support
1. Provides shipping assistance to other departments.
2. Responds to all internal & external customers in an efficient, timely and appropriate manner.
3. Provides secretarial and clerical support for the traffic department.
4. Advises customers on carriers, rates, transit times and makes appropriates shipping arrangements.
5. Assists with calculating freight rates for quotes and with Freight claims filing.

6. Resolves customer problems regarding shipping.
Material Planning
Review indirect materials (packaging) for ordering as required to ensure no stock outs. Place MRO po’s in SAP or Ariba with suppliers as needed. Cycle count products as required. Handle hardware VMI program (bin system). Create Info Record and Source Lists for new parts in SAP. Help coordinate paperwork on shop floor to ensure completion of orders.
Safety and Housekeeping
1. Conforms to Health and Safety requirements and company policy.
2. Adheres to machine safety guidelines.
3. Wears safety apparel, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and back braces, where required.
4. Wears hearing protection, where required.
5. Uses proper lifting techniques to lift up to 35 lbs., anything over 35 pounds with apparatus assistance.
6. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform very repetitive movements frequently using the following: telephone, computer,
typewriter, adding machine, copier, fax machine, scale, tape measure, and stapler. Must be able to sit for long periods and be able to move throughout entire facility.
Special Requirements:
Ability to communicate verbally in English is essential. Flexible to accept changes in work assignments to
meet the customer requirements. Regularity of attendance is essential to ensure a high-quality product is
shipped according to customer needs. Highly repetitive movement of hands and body. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Train other as needed.
Knowledge and Experience:
Must have SAP experience with Shipping Logistics
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to perform basic math calculations.
3. Minimum 5-7 years Shipping administration experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
4. Microsoft Office required
