In this role, you will support department staff in incorporating the department's environmental programs, policies, and procedures into the planning, development, construction, operation, and maintenance of transportation facilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this position, you will support the District Environmental Supervisor and Manager in obtaining environmental clearance for transportation projects. This will involve preparing the necessary environmental documentation and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels. You will also be responsible for coordinating the development and review of various environmental documents, such as categorical exclusions, technical reports, and mitigation plans. It is important to stay updated on environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Additionally, you will assess the potential impacts of transportation projects on various aspects, including landforms, air and noise quality, water resources, ecological conditions, land use, recreational facilities, socio-economic resources, and cultural resources.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as an Environmental Planner 1; or Five years of progressive professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or A Master's degree in planning or one of the environmental sciences and two years of progressive professional environmental planning experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
