DESCRIPTION OF WORK This program offers a one-year training opportunity for individuals interested in construction inspection responsibilities. The trainee will be involved in assisting with the inspection of materials and workmanship on various highway construction projects. The trainee will play a crucial role in ensuring that all construction activities on highway projects meet contract requirements, established specifications, and certification standards by conducting inspections and carrying out testing duties. Responsibilities will include assisting in the inspection of routine phases of highway construction work, such as verifying grades, elevations, stake out of roadways, and basic structures to ensure compliance with project specifications. Additionally, the trainee will be required to maintain detailed daily written records following Department procedures. This will involve documenting completed work, items to be paid on current estimates, and certifying the quality of materials used in the construction projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
