Commonwealth of Pennsylvania County Caseworker 1 (Local Government) - Blair County Children and Youth (Multip in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania

SIGN-ON BONUS! Newly hired full-time caseworkers with fewer than 12 months of consecutive full-time experience as a caseworker at any county child welfare agency in Pennsylvania are eligible to receive a recruitment incentive of $2,000.00 within 30 days of the individual's confirmed eligibility and active, regular (versus temporary) employment with County of Blair.  Individual's name must appear on a Civil Service list from an eligible caseworker job posting.

Newly hired full-time caseworkers with 12 or more months of consecutive full-time experience as a Caseworker 1 or Caseworker 2 at any county child welfare agency in Pennsylvania and holding current certification as a Child Welfare Direct Service Worker by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services are eligible to receive a recruitment incentive of $5,000.00 within 30 days of the individual's confirmed eligibility and active, regular (versus temporary) employment with County of Blair.  Individual's name must appear on a Civil Service list from an eligible caseworker job posting.

Newly hired full-time caseworkers shall mean an individual that has not been employed by Blair County in any capacity within 12 consecutive months prior to the date of their application.

Hiring incentives require that the hire stay a full 24 months, or pay County a pro-rated portion of the payment for the time not worked up to the 24-month stay period.

Our caseworkers secure the safety, permanency, and well-being of our children by responding to reports of child abuse and neglect, investigating allegations, coordinating with law enforcement, testifying in court, and connecting with service providers, family members, and other resources.  Blair County Children, Youth and Families is a fast paced, dynamic workplace filled with supportive team members.  While working with us, you will gain a wealth of experience that will serve as a base for whatever path you choose in the social services or criminal justice.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Rotating Emergency Duty coverage for after-hour calls. Competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 45 workdays and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with prescription and vision components, defined benefit pension plan, defined contribution plan, group term life insurance, one sick day earned a month, and 14 annual paid holidays. Starting pay is $39,000.00 annually with opportunity to work overtime, emergency duty and receive call out pay. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college cre its in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements:
