- A Therapeutic Music Practitioner works in the area of the Healing Environment within Spiritual Care Services. Holland Hospital’s program is called HarpCare. This position provides comfort and support for patients, loved ones and hospital staff through the soothing and uplifting power of acoustic music - within a patient room and in public areas of the hospital. This includes professional communication with interdisciplinary staff and documentation within the patient record. This position carries out administrative duties as directed and must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to individual clinical situations and appropriate to the age of the persons served. These settings may include routine hospitalization, end-of-life care or ambient care unit or public presentations.
High School Diploma or GED
Current training/participation in, or granted certification from, a training organization endorsed by The National Standards Board for Therapeutic Musicians (NSBTM). This may include 1) The International Harp Therapy Program (IHTP), 2) The Clinical Musician Certification Program (CMCP) or 3) The Music of Healing and Transition Program (MHTP).
- Enrolled in a Therapeutic Music Practitioner course, internship, or the completion of a program as described above
