Job Description The Department of Dance at Hope College seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Dance Instruction position that will begin July 1, 2024 (but not on campus until August 15, 2024). A terminal degree is preferred but not required.

The successful candidate will be a recognized instructor/performer/choreographer with proven tested professional experience, and qualified to teach multiple levels of tap, jazz, or modern. Ability to teach additional technique classes, general education dance courses, as well as dance theory courses (dance history, dance pedagogy, etc.) would be beneficial. The applicant should have imaginative and recognized choreography in their field, with an interest in participation/directorship of an affiliate pre-professional company. Individuals with a clear enthusiasm and record of teaching students of various technical levels in both departmental and general education courses in a liberal arts setting are encouraged to apply.

RANK & SALARY: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to combine excellence in classroom teaching with other appropriate professional activities. Candidates must express commitment to the goals and objectives of the Dance Department. Candidate must express commitment to the college mission and religious character of the institution.

A terminal degree is preferred but not required.
