JOB SUMMARY

As a Server at Bears Den Restaurant, your duties will encompass maintaining clean and organized tables, presenting menus, and serving food and beverages to patrons. You'll need to possess a friendly and courteous demeanor, coupled with quick reflexes, to keep pace with the restaurant's dynamic environment. Your indispensable objective will be to deliver top-notch service that will uphold and elevate our reputation while attracting a loyal clientele. You'll be responsible for ensuring our guests receive a memorable dining experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Required to thoroughly know the POS system: Pos-Touch, opening, and closing procedures.

  • Keep everything neat and clean. This includes sweeping throughout the shift such as cleaning and wiping down equipment, glass fixtures, and walls.

  • Accept reservations after discussing with the manager.

  • Knowledge of menu items and how meals are prepared.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.

  • Maintain all your tables with the necessities and clear away all non-essentials as the meal progresses.

  • Must have the ability to up-sell menu items.

  • All servers are expected to bus, wipe down, and re-set their tables.

  • Must have an extremely high emphasis on hospitality.

  • When not busy with customers, assist those who are.

  • Must have excellent phone etiquette and always provide the best possible service.

  • You must be aware of guests and anticipate their needs.

  • Greet and seat customers as they enter the restaurant.

  • Keen attention to customers while communicating both verbally and via body language.

  • Work alongside co-workers to maximize the customer’s dining experience by helping one another.

  • Take proper care of all kitchen equipment.

  • Can communicate clearly, empathize, and enthusiastically listen to all customers.

  • Are properly presentable at the beginning, during, and after their shifts.

  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers directly and on the phone.

  • Must consistently represent the Bear’s Den Restaurant and TMG positively.

  • Must be respectful of professional boundaries.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred at least two years experience in Restaurant Industry or Service experience.

  • Previous customer service experience is considered an asset.

  • Ability to adhere to policies/procedures/standards, both written and oral.

  • Able to operate effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    POSTURAL AND PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent reaching above waist, chest, and shoulder level as well as below waist level

  • Frequent to the continuous need for manual dexterity of both hands (handling, gripping, fine finger controls, etc.,)

  • Continuous standing on tiled surfaces for all tasks

  • Frequent hip flexion while walking for all tasks.

  • Frequent lifting of boxes of supplies / Products weighing from <5 – 50 lbs. vertically from floor to knuckle height.

  • Occasional lifting of milk crates weighing between 5 – 30 lbs. vertically from floor to knuckle height, knuckle to shoulder height, or from fridge to counter height.

  • Frequent exposure to cold/ below freezing and high heat temperatures (walk-in refrigerator and freezers, ovens) .
