About the Role:

The Account Manager position entails leading the strategy and execution of sales activities within the Independent Bookstore Channel across the United States and Canada. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of Retail and Wholesale accounts, overseeing all aspects of sales, and driving growth initiatives within the designated market. The Account Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders while achieving sales targets and promoting the company's products and services effectively.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Relationship Management: You will play a crucial role in managing relationships with external sales teams, fostering strong partnerships to drive sales initiatives effectively.
  • Presentation of Key Titles: Presenting key Wiley frontlist titles to outside sales teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and maximizing visibility and sales opportunities.
  • Collaboration with Industry Groups: Act as a liaison with the American Booksellers Association (ABA) and other regional bookseller groups, fostering collaboration and representing the company's interests within these communities.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to promote books on Bookshop.org, leveraging this platform effectively to increase visibility and drive sales through the ABA online store.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend key industry functions and meetings, representing the company and staying abreast of industry trends, developments, and opportunities.
  • Edelweiss Planning: Play a pivotal role in Edelweiss planning for sell-in, ensuring effective utilization of this platform to drive sales and maximize market penetration for Wiley titles.

What We Look For:

  • College Degree: A Bachelor's degree is required, demonstrating a strong educational foundation relevant to the role.
  • Experience: Candidates must possess 3-5 years of experience specifically in trade bookstore sales within a similar publishing environment, showcasing a deep understanding of the industry and its dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Tools: Proficiency in Edelweiss, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, enabling efficient data management, analysis, and presentation skills necessary for the role.
  • Sales Forecasting: Demonstrated experience in sales forecasting, highlighting the ability to analyze market trends, predict sales performance, and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Work/Life Balance: The ability to effectively manage work/life and home/work balance is highly valued, showcasing resilience, adaptability, and prioritization skills essential for maintaining productivity and well-being in a demanding work environment.
