Job Overview

The Senior Analyst – SAP is responsible for leading project teams in gathering business requirements, design, develop, and implement new functionality. Support existing SAP solution and related enterprise software. Assisting business with financial analysis. Responsible for Finance, Controlling, & Profitability Analysis within SAP and associated applications and tools.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze business issues, balancing the often competing needs for innovation and standardization/process harmonization, to develop/propose business solutions.

  • Support existing solutions for break-fix issues and continuous process improvement to improve functional solution and business process.

  • Working cohesively with Business Process Owners to ensure business process design and supporting SAP configuration and developments are in line with the business needs and strategic objectives.

  • Ensuring stability and continuity in IT operations.

  • Act as advanced level support for analysis, troubleshooting and resolving technical accounting issues in collaboration with IT, Accounting, and Finance departments

  • Take a leading role as a project manager in business application deployment projects; participate as SAP subject matter expert within area of expertise of assigned SAP modules.

  • Lead internal and external teams of cross functional resources during the project to achieve the results and manage the deliverables.

  • Manage and control the implementation of changes without business interruption.

  • Managing tasks through all project lifecycle phases (Requirements Gathering and Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Support) for IT initiatives.

  • Understanding of integration and relationship between SAP modules, especially as they relate to FICO & COPA.

  • Analysis of financial postings and outcomes to ensure system is working as expected.

  • Documenting current configuration and maintaining proper level of documentation for all changes including specifications and testing documentation.

  • Gather requirements from business partners, research and propose short and long term solutions utilizing SAP or other enterprise applications.

  • Write functional specification, resolve critical application development issues, develop and deliver training material.

  • Coordinate the creation and execution of test scripts.

  • Execute post implementation reviews to measure actual deliverables vs. requirements.

  • Collaborating with other team members to design and deploy effective IT solutions

  • Provide leadership in the IT Applications team.

  • Assist Director, IT Applications to realize team, department, and business goals.

Required Education and Experience

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or related field.

  • 10+ years of IT experience in a corporate environment supporting SAP systems and projects.

  • Expert knowledge of SAP FICO, COPA, & Treasury.

  • Extensive functional understanding of accounting best practices, and an ability to implement them in software solutions.

  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial postings.

  • Strong cross functional understanding of SAP modules.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Strong teamwork approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.

  • Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance.

  • Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

  • Experience with Deviated (Billback) Pricing.

  • S/4 HANA implementation & New General Ledger experience.

  • PMP certification.

  • Experience as a People Manager.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.

• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
