Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The role will provide analytical and operational support in the implementation of Total Rewards Policies and strategies for Japan, and would have opportunity to expand to other international market in attracting, retaining, and motivating our talent while fostering a high-performance culture.

Reporting to Senior Total Rewards Manager Japan, you will oversee opportunities and create solutions in the following areas of Compensation and benefits:

  • Act as the subject matter expert to stakeholders on in-country compensation and benefits related matter including providing guidance on mid to complex matters, as well as working collaboratively with HR Managers to deliver innovative solutions and help People Leader to understand our Total Reward philosophy

  • Responsible for conducting targeted competitive pay studies , provide insight and solutioning on compensation management

  • Develop and enhance the provision of total rewards reporting, analytics , and insight , through th e provision of high quality and accurate management information while enhancing the reporting capabilities of the Rewards Team.

  • As an individual contributor, support the flawless execution of Annual Total Rewards Processes such as yearly budgeting process, annual compensation review and short-term Incentive program

  • Manage salary survey and benchmarking activities, ensuring compensation practices and programs are competitive aligned with our industry and conform to country statutory requirements

  • Support the continuous improvement , including harmonization and optimization of total rewards policies, programs, processes, and practices.

  • Collaborate effectively with regional colleagues on policies, processes, and practices to help ensure operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with minimum of 5 years of direct compensation and benefits or HR Consulting experiences in Japan as well as any APAC countries.)

  • Sound operational experiences including managing Total Rewards related queries.

  • Prior experiences in implementing new programs/practices, managing Union negotiations, analyzing different scenarios

  • Knowledge on country Labor Laws will be an added advantage.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with Japanese (Native Level), English (Business Level) and any other languages.

  • Demonstrate ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • An agile learner and continuous improvement mindset

  • Proven project management skills including ability to plan, market, and execute programs

  • Strong team-building skills, proven ability to engage as a horizontal team player.

  • Experienced in the Life Sciences, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical Industries or any Multi-National experience will be an added advantage

  • Familiarity with HR Technology/operations especially in Workday
