BAE Systems Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Network Engineer in Hill AFB, Utah

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS). The successful candidate will be employed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

The Network Engineer supports the Minuteman III Systems Program Office in design and planning of SACCS network communication systems. The SACCS Network Engineer will assist the government program office in the day-to-day planning and execution of activities in support of the SACCS program. Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following tasks:

Develop Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and or updated drawings for tasks and Time Compliance Technical Orders identified as impacting SACCS Engineering Drawings.

Develop and deliver hardcopy drawings for new SACCS Engineering Drawings as required.

Obtain on-line journals from select accountable nodes, analyzing response times and other

system performance metrics to take place both normal-day and exercise traffic.

Simulate real-world traffic using SACCS Software Test Facilities, injecting traffic via

automated means.

Compare and contrast resultant data between various software releases and/or hardware modifications

to determine optimal environments.

Request research memory utilization at Base Communications Processor locations and

explore possible solutions/enhancements, as needed.

Work with depot and Centralize Repair Facility programmers in development of software updates.

Prepare on-going reports, as needed, detailing efforts, issues, possible solutions, conclusions and/or

Recommendations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Data Processing, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics or equivalent experience in the applicable domain.

Must have minimum of 7 years software, systems, and/or test engineering experience (5 with MS degree). Previous ICBM experience is preferred.

Experience performing network design and systems integration.

Experience designing, developing, implement, testing and maintaining complex secure communications networks

Candidate must possess exceptional oral/written communications skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently or as a member of a group effort and will be able to work well in government and diverse contractor teams.

Successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance for performance of job duties.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience with embedded weapon systems, particularly MMIII ICBM weapon system software programs particularly software updates/sustainment activities.

Experience with software development for DOD applications. This includes the detailed analysis and testing of software to verify that program and safety requirements are correctly implemented. Experience reviewing or coding in FORTRAN, C, and/or ADA and translating hard coded changes and hardware presentations into simulations.

Demonstrated capability to capture impacts of operational system changes on simulated training environments.

Experience with and knowledge of NSCCA/PATE processes.

Demonstrated experience in software testing.

Knowledge of MMIII software program interfaces and dependencies.

Experience working proposal efforts and technical evaluations is also desirable.

Candidates with an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is preferred

Understanding of several areas of ICBM system software programs and sustainment efforts.

Candidate should have Security Plus Certification.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91980 - $156330

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
