Role Summary

Responsible for picking, sequencing and moving production parts within the plant; and ensures production line has the correct parts for production in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Picks production materials identified on a pick sheet within the sequencing area in an accurate and timely manner.

Places material in correct cell containers that coincide with the build sequence.

Delivers materials to production line via cart and/or tugger in a timely manner.

Maintains stock in an organized fashion and on a first in-first out (FIFO) basis.

Assists with monthly physical inventories and cycle counts.

Operates material handling equipment including tugger cart.

Loads and unloads parts from warehouse to production line.

Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through appropriate channels; participates in Kaizen/MPS activities.

Works in a manner that promotes teamwork among fellow employees.

Completes all paperwork associated with the job assignment in an accurate and timely manner.

Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.

Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions or acts to management immediately.

Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately to your Supervisor.

Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Additional Information

Education/Certification/Licensure: Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by Magna Seating Detroit).

SEQUENCER/TUGGER

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good written and verbal communication skills. Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments. Detailed oriented and good documentation skills. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e. tuggercart).

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposed to varying temperature within plant depending upon external weather condition. Continuously lifts, grips/grasps, bends/stoops, stands, walks, and carries parts up to thirty (30) lbs. Frequently pushes/pulls or carries material bins/carts up to thirty

(30) lbs. May be assigned to operate a tugger. Frequently stands while operating a tugger; and climbs on and off tugger as needed. Must be available to work overtime including weekends and holidays.
