The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Scope of Position: The qualified candidate will provide global leadership for the reporting and analytics strategy in support of Corning’s manufacturing divisions. Candidate will assess existing reporting and analytics practices and toolsets, develop a roadmap to deliver advanced capabilities, and engage the businesses to facilitate achieving greater levels of analytics maturity.


  • Research and experiment with leading edge analytics approaches and service providers to build experience and capabilities in support of advancing analytics for manufacturing including predictive, prescriptive, big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT)

  • Help extrapolate what the future Industry 4.0 vision means for existing architecture, operating processes, skills, sourcing, governance, and culture.

  • Link the analytics vision with manufacturing outcomes and build solutions that focus on business value, not just technical excellence

  • Build rapport across Corning’s IT, functional organizations and all lines of businesses

  • Leadership, guidance and input on all IT aspects including strategy, architecture, planning, and execution for manufacturing reporting and analytics initiatives across Corning’s businesses

  • Collaborate with IT Enterprise Architecture, Corporate Data Information and Analytics teams, external research analyst, and peers to develop and implement an IT Manufacturing Analytics Strategy and roadmap

  • Partner with IT and manufacturing business units to develop business cases and manage expectations around service, cost, risk, delivery and lifecycle requirements

  • Drive foundational standard capabilities for real-time reporting, KPI dashboards, and business intelligence platforms across Corning

  • Manage the outcome of manufacturing analytics projects. Project delivery is accomplished using three methods: Lead a centralized team to deliver business reporting and analytics projects, identify external service providers to accelerate delivery, and influence the architecture and approach as a steering team member for business-led analytics projects.

  • Promote professional growth and development of core team and create a safe, positive work environment that fosters innovation and collaboration.

  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and performance standards.

  • Retain and recruit team members who have core technical competencies to execute projects and deliver innovative capabilities.

  • Champion talent management objectives including performance feedback, development plans, rewards and recognition.

  • Identify organizational gaps (skills and capabilities) and propose plan to address

  • Build effective interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.

Travel Requirements: 25% (domestic and international).

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s Degree / MBA preferred Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • 10-15 years of Information Technology and/or Engineering role in a global manufacturing environment

  • Proven performance record in supervisory and strategy roles, preferably around advancing analytics transformations in Manufacturing.
