[As a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of construction projects. You will be responsible for conducting field-testing, sampling, and inspections of various construction materials at active construction sites.

- Field Testing: Perform field tests on materials such as concrete, soils, asphalt, aggregates, and structural steel to assess their properties and compliance with project specifications.
- Sampling: Collect representative samples of construction materials for laboratory testing.
- Inspections: Conduct visual inspections of construction sites to identify potential quality issues and ensure adherence to construction standards.
- Data Collection: Record test results, observations, and other relevant data accurately and efficiently.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain specialized testing equipment, including concrete slump testers, soil compaction gauges, and moisture meters.
- Reporting: Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing test results, observations, and recommendations.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on construction sites.
- Communication: An integral part of the position is to communicate with site contractors, field technicians, project managers, and project engineers as well as other CVET staff members daily. Candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent - People with a BSCE and EI will be considered for the position. Prior CMT/SI field experience is a plus.
- Experience in the construction industry or related field is preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Qualified candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have/maintain a clean driving record, and have a valid driver's license.
- Exposure to adverse conditions including extreme hot/cold temperatures, wet/humid conditions, noisy environments and conditions that require PPE equipment (Provided by CVET).
- Candidates must be physically able to lift 75-100 pounds during various work activities and be available to work varied hours. Overtime as needed.
