Roles:CNC Machinist Specialist II is responsible for operating one or more types of computer numeric controlled production equipment. Here at SRM we have a variety of Haas, Doosan, Fadal, Enco, Bridgeport; Vertical milling centers, Turret lathes and Manual lathe/mills. A machinist at SRM is responsible for set up, programming, operation, and GD&T on all parts. We manufacture a large variety of components and efficiency in set-up time is critical. We work as a team, but individual efforts make a big difference. We need someone who is self-motivated and takes pride in what they manufacture.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints.
- Determine most efficient machining strategy based on part constraints.
- Understand differences in tooling for best tool life/ part accuracy.
- Able to read and modify G and M code.
- Be able to fully operate and maintain multiple machining centers.
- Accurate GD&T
- Ability to reevaluate old programs to gain efficiency.
- Develop fixturing and work holding.
- Diagnose inconsistencies and out of tolerance parts.
- Accurate time and resources logging.
