Our Threat Protection strategy at Microsoft spans multiple products, providing state-of-the-art protection across Identity, Endpoints, Cloud apps, Email, SIEM, and Multi-cloud security. We combine advanced client technology built into the endpoint with robust cloud services to detect and thwart threats that bypass other defenses. We empower enterprises with actionable insights to detect and mitigate malicious activity, offering expert response recommendations.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a comprehensive cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) that includes DevOps security, cloud security posture management (CSPM), and cloud workload protection (CWP) capabilities. It helps find weak spots across cloud configurations, strengthens the overall security posture of environments, and protects workloads across multicloud and hybrid environments from evolving threats. We are looking for someone with experience in this domain and/or a competitive product and can act as a deep subject matter expert to work alongside the field driving sales and adoption of the solution.

Responsibilities

  • You will be part of the Security Pre-Intent CxE team, focusing mainly on the Microsoft Defender for Cloud area while also gaining insight into various product workloads and teams to identify new opportunities for developing and driving at-scale workloads.

  • An important responsibility will be addressing the competitive landscape and the customer perception of Microsoft Defender for Cloud. You will share your expertise and provide guidance to the field, supporting opportunities and promoting sales and adoption of MDC.

  • Additionally, you will offer guidance through collateral, webinars, and other forums to educate the field on how to engage with and utilize these programs, as well as gather feedback to enhance and grow the offerings.

  • As a Security Pre-Intent CxE Team member, you will build relationships with engineering, uncover key insights, drive measurable product improvements in collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, and Security Researchers, and create scalable and repeatable processes that enable value realization for Microsoft security solutions.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements

Must have:

  • In-depth knowledge of our cloud security offering Microsoft Defender for Cloud or experience with leading CNAPP solution providers (PANT, Wiz, CS, etc.).

Nice to have:

  • In-depth architect-level knowledge of Microsoft Threat Protection security offerings, expectation is level 300-400 on at least one of the workloads.

Role Requirements

  • The candidate must have a solid technical sales background or extensive experience in field/customer-facing roles.

  • Customer focused with experience working with Global 500 companies.

  • Demonstrated passion for and ability to drive improvements in end-to-end customer experiences  

  • Ability to act as a liaison between customers and development teams to ensuresuccessful technical fulfillment of customer requirements 

  • Forward thinking and strategic, yet pragmatic and operationally savvy, with a commitment to a job well done 

  • Focus on diversity and inclusiveness to enable creative solutions to problems and to encourage all to feel included  

  • Strong focus on learning and growth mindset

  • Communicator – strong negotiation, organizational, presentation and writing skills. Ability to engage with Microsoft senior stakeholders and provide feedback and best practices.
