The Hershey Company Staff Engineer Project Management in Hershey, Pennsylvania
Job Location: Hershey, PA Role Summary: *Provides technical leadership in the practice of Hershey Project Management and Engineering activities within the Global Operations Engineering Department. Assigned to lead and implement complex engineering and project management efforts of critical importance to the Company. Provides management with technical advisement in the design and approach to major engineering and project management efforts. Interacts closely with senior management in an advisory capacity and with the managerial staff of Global Supply Chain as an expert project management and engineering resource. May represent Hershey in professional and industrial organizations as required. * Responsibilities: Actively leads and manages large and complex projects that have the potential to impact the Company business. Able to simultaneously lead and manage multiple large capital projects, and manage a large and diverse contractor and supplier base as such capital projects are implemented. To successfully accomplish capital project objectives, able to lead and direct activities of persons not directly assigned to the project team, e.g., Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, S&OP persons, IE’s, R&D members, et al. Ensures all project implementation activities are in full compliance with all corporate capital control policies and procedures. Ensures all assigned technical team members are working in a collective manner, work is technically correct for the project scope, and all efforts are executed in a manner to maintain project budget and schedule. When directing and managing non-THC persons contracted to support the project implementation commitments, represents the Company in a manner as outlined in the Corporate Code of Business Ethics, and ensures all contractors and suppliers adhere to applicable Company safety, security, and contractual requirements. Actively involved in the development of the future major capital projects that has the potential to impact the Company’s business. Provides technical, schedule, and budgeting advisements during the project development processes. Provides key engineering functional advisements and direction to GOE management and Global Operations management during project development activities to ensure full project scopes, schedules, and budgets are developed, challenged, and critiqued. * Qualifications:* •PMP Certification Strongly Preferred •Provides mentoring and coaching to engineers, technical specialists, and project managers to provide opportunities for them to develop critical technical, management, and business skills to create the next generation of Engineering and technical leadership personnel. * Experience & Education: * •BS engineering degree preferred •With B.S.
