JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Family & Community Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Research Project Manager to assist with the research and administrative support of the residency program located in State College. The Ideal candidates should have experience in conducting human subjects research. The ideal candidate should have proficient ability with the following tasks and skills:

  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in a professional manner.

  • Experience with research governance, regulations, University policies, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements & processes.

  • Management of research data and protocols across a variety of study designs and research methodologies.

  • Overseeing daily project operations (budgets, timelines, standard operating procedures, project reporting), and relationships with internal departments and external entities supporting project implementation.

  • Coordinating with internal and external entities to establish contracts and agreements, and development of marketing materials.

  • Work independently to plan, develop and maintain study procedures, equipment, and policies that have an impact in all facets of research in concert with Family Medicine resident physicians faculty and staff.

  • Study management including database development, implementation, quality control, and support. Preference toward experience with existing internal Penn State HMC software (e.g., REDCap).

  • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, NVivo), and statistical analysis methods and report preparation; advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Creative Cloud functions; familiarity with the University’s Strategic Information Management System (SIMS) and accounting procedures and systems (SIMBA) for reporting and budgets.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to work in a team environment, and ability to contribute to the Penn State FCM’s missions.

  • Excellent writing skills, able to aid development and writing of literature reviews, IRB protocols, manuscripts and grants; demonstrated authorship of scientific, peer-reviewed publications is a plus.

  • Attend remotely monthly collaboration meetings with intra-organizational programs including Penn State University, Penn State Health at Hershey, University Park, and St. Joseph’s Hospital sites.

  • Assisting with implementation of resident and faculty scholarly activity curriculum in connection with the activities described above.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $81,500.00
