JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Geriatric Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist.

The purpose of this position is to support a required element of the RISE grant, which is to recruit and engage long term care communities in ongoing quality improvement work and educational resources. The person in this position will lead and execute communication strategies to ensure greater than 40% of the South Central RISE LTC communities have 2 or more participants engage in 1 or more activities/resources.

  • Person in this role will need to be expert in marketing and communications, excellent communication skills, understand communication and engagement approaches across different generations of workforce and understand nuances of LTC workforce challenges. Knowledge of webpage design, social media, and email marketing platforms is required.

  • Direct communication and engagement with long term care communities

  • Develop and implement communication strategy in alignment with RISE partners, including PA Office of Long Term Care Transformation

  • Create tools and approaches to track use of new communication tools.

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Ability to track and assess communication strategies, their success or failure, and use that information to shape ongoing communication and engagement strategies.

  • Along with PI, and leaders of discrete programs within RISE, this person will need excellent communication skills and approximately 50% of their time will be direct interaction with partners and up to 240 LTC facilities, which will include 2-8 persons per facility.

  • Must possess ability to function as part of a team, as well as demonstrate confidence in leading aspects of the marketing, recruitment and engagement of the grant.

  • Given this person will be the sole expert on the grant team, this person, once equipped with foundational knowledge related to the grant, must be able to self-direct, as well as complete deliverables set forth by the PI.

This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00
