The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students. MHS is seeking a part-time Administrative Secretary (AS) for the Psychological Services Department in the Elementary Division. This role provides administrative and clerical support for the Associate Director of Psychological Services and staff of the Psychological Services Department; The AS handles a wide variety of responsibilities which require initiative, sound judgement, data management, a high degree of confidentiality, exceptional organizational skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

The position supports Psychological Services as one vital area within Student Health Services consistent with the vision and mission of Milton Hershey School. The Administrative Secretary position is primarily responsible for supporting the daily non-clinical operations of the Psychological Services department and collaborating with many other departments within the school. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Extensive scheduling utilizing Microsoft Outlook calendaring.

  • Addressing urgent matters expediently and professionally.

  • Ensuring timely communications with staff, students, sponsors, and others.

  • Drafting and finalizing documentation in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Monitoring budget and other expense tracking.

  • Ensuring appropriate records retention protocol is followed.

  • Ensuring smooth operations of the front office for the building.

  • Collaborating with other administrative staff throughout MHS.

  • Other duties as needed include ordering supplies, data entry, special projects, etc.

This is year-round, in-person position located in Hershey, PA. The work hours are typically within from 7:30 PM to 4:00 PM range up to 29 hours per week. Hourly pay rate: $17.74 to $23.68 per hour, pay is determined based on experience. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least one year of prior experience in successful office administration in a high-volume setting. School office administrative experience preferred.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with others.

  • Proficiency in using technology, including MS Office Applications, Google applications, video conferencing, and the internet.

  • Excellent project management skills, including time management, organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and prioritization.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate in a team environment.

  • High degree of professionalism and high-quality customer service required.

  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.

  • Candidates should be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
