Amazon Delivery Operations Program Manager, Infra DCPD - (AMER) in Herndon, Virginia

We’re hiring a Delivery Operations Program Manager in Seattle, WA, Herndon, VA or Arlington, VA to drive our capital allocation request and critical business operations processes to support infrastructure growth initiatives for the Americas Data Center Delivery team. The high-volume, high-visibility process requires timely input from cross-functional teams and concise, clear narratives documented for weekly senior leadership reviews. The ideal candidate will have the ability to earn trust with multiple stakeholder groups, has strong organizational skills, and is a strong communicator, both written and verbally. We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated prior successes coordinating across multiple teams for information in a rapid-paced environment; organizes information well for others consumption; and who has previous experience providing clear and concise narratives for leadership.

The Program Manager will:

  • Create funding request narratives to provide concise, clear, and consistent details describing how requested funding supports customers by delivering needed capacity.

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities to assemble business reports and capacity delivery funding requests.

  • Maintain funding request progress tracker to ensure requests’ timing aligns with leadership review timelines, allows for capacity delivery on time to support customer needs, and provides partner teams data to resource plan to support the funding request assembly process.

  • Determine and monitor key metrics to measure and evaluate program performance

  • Develop process improvement ideas to drive improvements to the manual parts of the process under your control and recommend solutions to other teams for improvements to the overall process.

  • Collaborate with technical program managers and demand/supply planners on the team in order to competently represent the team to other stakeholder groups.

  • Own project status communication consistently providing clear and concise summaries for the team’s funding requests to leadership.

  • Have a good working relationship with finance, build teams, sourcing partners, supply and demand teams, and other teams as needed. Recognize discordant views and lead constructive dialogue to resolve them.

  • Proactively mitigate risks to delivering capacity by following through on funding request approvals throughout the process.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • PMP certificate

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
