Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Trade Compliance Teams interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

We are building a world-class Global Trade Services (GTS) organization and the Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) Import/Export Analyst III plays a critical role supporting trade operations and compliance within AD&M.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and key liaison, engaging with internal AD&M stakeholders and GTS colleagues to facilitate compliance international transfers of both tangible and intangible goods and services. The purpose of this role is to facilitate AD&M’s trade compliance for items covered by a US export authorization, within Mexico with close coordination with US key stakeholders, to support Trade Compliance under specific import and export authorizations, support authorization management efforts, build local trade compliance awareness, ensure compliance with authorizations’ scope and associated limitations/provisos, and facilitate effective operational aspects of international trade under authorized US exports. The Import/Export Analyst will help support pre- and post-licensing activities for AD&M.

This role reports to the AD&M Americas Compliance Manager and is a key member of the Global Trade Services (GTS) team. As part of the GTS team, the AD&M Import/Export Analyst will join a group of professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business by providing business solutions for compliance with global trade laws and regulations.

In addition, successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

Bachelor's degree preferred (international business, supply chain, law, or related field

3+ years’ experience required in global trade authorization management, 5+ years’ experience supporting trade functions generally

Preferred: 5+ years’ experience in supporting trade functions within an aerospace, defense, or similar business

Functional knowledge of import and export regulations, specialization on authorization management

Familiarity with customs practices in Mexico and IMMEX programs

Proven ability to work with variety of business groups, including supply chain, legal, procurement and finance

Ability to foster teamwork and internal and external relationships

Excellent organizational habits and priority management

Customer focused with a commitment to quality

Travel may be necessary in fulfillment of responsibilities

Short Description

As part of the GTS AD&M Operations team, establish and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders engaged in trade-related activities:

• Support and maintain trade operations and compliance activities following TE policies, procedures, and controls, (GTS Command Media) in collaboration with key stakeholders throughout AD&M

• Act as a key point of contact for AD&M stakeholders on licensing and compliance trade-related matters.

• Engage BU stakeholders to comprehend business changes and develop trade-related proposals to the AD&M Compliance team for solutions/strategies and controls to ensure compliance.

• Support AD&M level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations under specific Trade related authorizations.

• In partnership entities Partner with Trade Compliance Professionals and Stakeholders in Mexico and the U.S.

• Partner with GTS Colleagues to monitor trade compliance regulatory and legislative changes, assess the potential impact on AD&M, and find the necessary actions and communications to the appropriate stakeholders

• Work with GTS AD&M Americas Compliance team to conduct trade compliance audits and oversee corrective action plans

• Partner with GTS AD&M Americas Compliance team to develop and manage effective trade compliance training as required throughout Mexico and AD&M

• Establish and maintain relationships with internal functions, including corporate functions, to encourage awareness of global trade compliance issues, proactively identify trade risks and threats, and develop appropriate trade compliance controls.
