This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB)to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Responsibilities Utilize existing automated systems to determine contingency cargo volumes and characteristics, and booking requirements Evaluate carriers for appropriate class-rate or commodity tariff needed considering item to be shipped and destination. Utilize Microsoft Outlook to monitor emails and schedule meetings to ensure deadlines are met. Initiate bill of lading process to provide shipment documents to carriers. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Utilizing automated shipping/logistics systems to move material; 2) Reviewing documentation for accuracy; and 3) Maintaining records in automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work at the performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Further certification may take place up to 90 days after original certification. THIS IS A TERM POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 2 YEARS. THIS APPOINTMENT MAY BE EXTENDED IN INCREMENTS OF 2 YEARS TO A MAXIMUM OF 8 YEARS. EXTENSIONS ARE NOT GUARANTEED AND ARE CONTINGENT UPON BUDGET AND WORKLOAD REQUIREMENTS.
