We're seeking a skilled full-stack engineer to join our LATAM team at Tech9! You'll play a key role in a large-scale project converting our codebase from Kotlin to Scala. This role requires someone who is willing to be a polyglot and has the capacity to quickly adapt to new environments. This role is 100% fullstack and is for those who are comfortable with both front and backend development.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to design, develop, and implement features across the full-stack.

• Deep dive into the existing Kotlin codebase and translate it efficiently into idiomatic Scala.

• Break down complex problems into manageable tasks and execute solutions effectively.

• Participate in daily standups and actively contribute to a transparent and collaborative Scrum team environment.

• Proactively communicate and collaborate with team leaders, project managers to identify and resolve potential roadblocks

• Work with ambiguous requirements and be able to change coding environments and languages quickly

• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.

   

  Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent professional hands-on experience with full-stack development (minimum of 4+ years)

• Professional hands-on development using Scala, Typescript, Java, Angular

• Solid understanding of functional programming concepts 

• Good understanding of data pipelines (modeling, etc.)

• A strong track record of working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Ability to quickly adapt to new languages and environments

• Strong familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.

• Proactive communication and collaboration abilities (cross-platform communication), especially in an agile environment

• The ability to think critically, analyze situations, and propose well-considered solutions.

• A passion for clean code, maintainability, and best practices.

• Advanced oral and written English skills (C1+)

• Ability to work between 10 AM - 4 PM MT (flexible within PT-ET range) 

  Application Process:

  Below you'll find an outline of the interview plan for our Fullstack (Scala/Java) positions. Please note that this is what we expect the process to look like. We may ask you for supplemental information or require an additional step before making a final decision.

• 30-minute screening with a member of our Recruitment team

• 1-hour Google meet/Zoom technical interview with one of our senior-principal-level engineers

• 1-hour technical/cultural interview with a Tech9 hiring manager

• 2 Client-Level technical interviews (further details will be given in the recruitment screen)
