Our client is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to improving patient care through efficient and secure release of medical information. They are seeking a Release of Information Specialist to join one of their teams in Henderson, NV. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As a Release of Information Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper and secure dissemination of medical records and information in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. As a Release of Information Specialist, your responsibilities will include processing requests for medical records, maintaining accurate records, and safeguarding patient privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review requests for medical records from authorized individuals or entities.

  • Verify the identity and authorization of requestors before releasing any medical information.

  • Retrieve and compile medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure all releases of information comply with federal and state laws, as well as HIPAA regulations.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of privacy and security protocols to protect patient information.

  • Prepare and package medical records for delivery or electronic transmission.

  • Maintain accurate logs and records of all requests and disclosures.

  • Respond to inquiries and provide excellent customer service to requestors.

  • Work closely with healthcare providers, legal personnel, and insurance companies as necessary.

  • Assist in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical records setting preferred.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical record release procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Proficient in computer applications and electronic medical record systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
