This is a full-time position with benefits candidates must be able to pass a background check.
Primary Purpose
Maintain a comfortable environment for instruction and learning by ensuring the availability of electrical power, emergency lighting, and power circuitry while providing Facility Services support in HVAC, Plumbing, and Emergency Operations across campus.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Installing power supply wiring and conduit such as: EMT, O-CAL, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, cable trays
Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
Install, repair and maintain electrical systems that interconnect solar array to the grid power
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems such as: switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, conveyor systems, lighting, and power supplies
Maintaining current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Knowledge and competency of building automation control systems, emergency generators, and cafeteria equipment.
Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
Work with local Inspectors to satisfy local requirements and expectations
Train, mentor and develop other Facility Apprentices
Maintain high quality control on tools, vehicles and materials needed for job responsibilities
Keep accurate records of material used and proper documentation on work orders
Maintain compliance to all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA and HES standards
Perform other needed job tasks as requested by leadership
Specific requirements:
4 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical
Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
Ability to perform advanced electrical calculations
Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client
Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
Ability to communicate in clear concise language and possess interpersonal skills promoting HES core values and principles
High standard of integrity and professionalism
Drug free at all times
Valid and current Journeyman (or Master) Electrician License within the state
Above average computer skills
Must be willing to work in high places and maintain “work at heights” certifications
MUST have tools of the trade
OSHA10 "Construction Safety and Health" preferred
MUST have a "valid" driver's license
MUST have reliable transportation (car or truck)
