Salary Grade: NC13/ Salary Range: $46,817-$81,930

This position functions as the lead HiCams Technician in the Mills River Office. This position will ensure all HiCams related functions are in compliance with contract agreements, standards and specifications. Position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. Work involves decision making and use of judgement. Employee must perform a full range of calculations and computations. This position may be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

Employee will be responsible for all required HiCams and SAP entries for project records, materials and estimates. Position will be responsible for HiCams function including processing monthly and final estimates, checking calculations, resolving pay record and material quantity discrepancies, researching project documents, processing material prepayments. Duties will also include, Certified Payroll processing, DBE Tracking, Budget Tracking, MRR Audits, Auditing Data Entries in HiCams and SharePlus, assisting lower-level technicians with data entry in HiCams and SharePlus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Knowledge and understanding of NCDOT highway and bridge construction

  • Working knowledge of computer equipment (I-Pads, Desktop), software (HiCams and Share Point) and mathematical functions

  • Working knowledge of pay record book entries and material received reports

  • Experience in maintaining neat, legible, and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry

  • Experience reading plans, contracts, and specifications for highway bridge construction

  • Experience with software and drafting software

Additional Expectations:

Ability to present information clearly and concisely in oral and written form. Ability to establish positive lines of communication between technicians and engineers. Ability to manage/maintain multiple projects/deadlines. Knowledge of highway construction and materials testing. Must be able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds. Note: Preference will be given to applicants with HiCams experience.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate’s degree in an applicable area of engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of progressive technician experience; or

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and eight years of progressive technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
