We are now looking for Field Technical Engineer / Clinical Application Specialist for our Electrophysiology Division in Finland.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As a Field Technical Engineer/Clinical Application Specialist within our Electrophysiology (EP) team you will be responsible for providing expert support and advise on the use of the Abbott EP portfolio in Finland.

What You’ll Work On

  • Provide expert clinical consultation and support on the use of all EP products and their appropriate application during electrophysiological procedures in the hospital (catheter laboratory)

  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new therapies and technologies within the therapy area, including competitor devices, as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market; discuss industry-specific flagship products and services

  • Resolve common customer problems and respond to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action

  • Proactively communicate information and discuss product placement and complex case support with colleagues; discuss whole range of Abbott EP products and services with physicians/hospital staff

  • Understand the business priorities of internal and external clients

  • Be aware and work against of sales targets and trends, marketing messages and describe desired or actual business results in measurable scales or terms

Your background

You can either be nurse with clinical experience in electrophysiology/cardiac rhythm management or a fresh graduate with a degree in a relevant technical or science related field with an interest to grow and become an expert in electrophysiology or a professional with a few years of experience from a relevant field.

You will go through an extensive training program to become certified on Abbott’s EP Products. To prepare you for the journey, you should have:

  • Willingness to learn and grow your expertise in electrophysiology

  • Familiarity with catheter lab and operating room procedures and protocol, strong cardiac anatomy & physiology knowledge preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiology, electro-physiology, or cardiac electro-physiology procedures

  • Ability to use engineering skills and abilities to interpret and solve complex clinical problems.

  • Strong communicationabilities with active listening skills and questioning techniques

  • A willingness to travel up to 75% of the time and ability to work autonomously; adapting work schedule to procedures’ duration and coping with irregular/uneven work days

  • Fluency in Finnish and English is a must
