State of Montana IT Systems Analyst 2 in Helena, Montana

Our IT Systems Analysts are responsible for developing strategies for design, development, testing, implementation, backup and disaster recovery, and production usage for both hardware and software application platforms for DEQ mission-critical applications. In this role, you'll: * _Craft the future of environmental technology_: *Design, develop, and implement mission-critical software and hardware applications. * *_Leverage your skills in a combination of the following areas:_ SQL queries and data reporting, Python, .NET, REST APIs, ServiceNow (AppEngine, Forms & Reports), Web Development (HTML, CSS, Javascript), UI/UX, and Moodle Administration, Oracle database administration, and GitLab. * _Become a security champion: _Ensure application and database security standards are upheld and implemented. * _Deliver solutions that matter: _Create software solutions for diverse needs across end-user, mid-tier, and web-based systems. * _Thrive in a dynamic environment: _Collaborate with a supportive and fun team in a DevOps-focused setting using the Scaled-Agile framework. * _Enjoy a healthy work-life balance:_ We value your well-being and offer excellent benefits. The IT Systems Analyst position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression. Qualifications • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field with an emphasis on information technology and/or software application engineering. Relevant bachelor's degree preferred. • Four (4) years job-related experience in software applications engineering or other closely related field of work. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
