Amentum seeks a Director of Travel Services responsible for the strategic growth and overall direction of the global travel program. This position is accountable for the program’s global expansion and management of metrics, programs, and tools that enable efficient operations, demand management and compliance with corporate policy and cost savings goals. Strong leadership and technical skills specific to the travel industry are essential in this role to develop and lead the travel team while maintaining the trust of senior management in all areas of the organization. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic projects which are cost effective and focusing on initiatives that support company leaders in defining their organizational goals and strategic plans and target compliance and adherence to policy. This position manages direct reports who are responsible for various aspects of the travel program. This position maintains, monitors, and reports on policy, metric, and target compliance.
This position has visibility with all levels of senior management and is involved from time to time with direct execution of certain key executives travel arrangements because of security, confidentiality, or other business reasons. This is a remote-telework role.
Responsibilities
Manages the development, execution and integration of travel agency, airline, hotel, ground transportation and corporate card contracts with travel industry suppliers utilizing market share commitments and primary suppliers in support of the travel program.
Negotiation of new and continuing agreements with all suppliers that support the organization’s travel program.
Develops on-going programs to interact with suppliers to ensure service issues and contractual and cost-effective terms are being met and recommends corrective action.
Strategically develops and manages cost-reduction programs and reports results to senior management, and partners with leaders in implementing strategies to support business requirements. Assures travel policies, procedures, objectives and programs are properly executed.
Addresses and resolves traveler concerns or service issues. Interacts with Travel Management Company to provide travelers' services that follow supplier agreements.
Develop and implement key cost savings initiatives that are applicable to the company’s financial goals and that directly support strategic plans of the business and functions.
Develop and distribute communication plans in accordance with marketing and communication guidelines that support travel management strategies with management endorsement.
Interact with Risk Management, Finance and Internal Audit to support documentation requirements as needed.
Lead technical direction for on-line products and services that reduce the cost of travel services and enhance the traveler experience.
Maintain effective industry relationships that enable market gathering intelligence without compromising any proprietary or intellectual property to facilitate the understanding of industry best practices and industry-specific metrics.
Facilitate the implementation of applicable travel best practices.
Ensure continual process improvement of travel program.
Takes on new responsibilities and projects that include but are not limited to the performing due diligence and integration of new businesses contract awards, and/or acquisitions.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field; MBA or CCTE preferred.
Minimum 15 years travel industry experience with proven track record of managing a global/multinational travel program, strategic supplier relationships and delivering exceptional results.
Procurement experience is required.
Government contractor travel management experience is highly desired.
US Citizenship is required.

Must have strong negotiation skills.
Must be capable of thriving in a high-pressure environment dealing with deadlines and making experience-based decisions and recommendations.
Must be capable of developing and leading a diverse team of internal and external team members objectives and managing delivery of their results.
Must possess excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Must be able to travel. We anticipate light domestic travel but, in the future, there may be light international travel.
