Applied Materials Head of Production (m/f/d) - E-beam technology - semiconductor industry in Heimstetten, Germany

In order to meet the rapidly increasing demand from our customers in the semiconductor industry, our location near Munich is constantly growing.

The Head of Production for E-Beam Technology is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process, ensuring efficient assembly and rigorous testing of e-beam technology products. This role involves leading production teams, optimizing processes, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring timely delivery of products. An ideal candidate will have extensive experience in production operations, a strong background in semiconductor or comparable industry, and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Oversee the entire production process for e-beam technology, from assembly to testing.

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet organizational goals and customer demands.

  • Monitor production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.

  • Optimize production workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity

Process Optimization:

  • Analyze production processes and identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations and eliminate waste.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production activities.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

  • Oversee testing procedures and protocols to validate the performance and reliability of e-beam technology products.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage production teams, including assembly technicians, testing engineers, and support staff.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the production department.

  • Provide training, development, and performance evaluations for production personnel.

  • Ensure a safe working environment and promote a culture of safety within the production team.

Resource Management:

  • Manage production resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel.

  • Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials.

  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of production equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present production performance reports to senior management.

  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including assembly and testing data, maintenance logs, and quality reports.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Qualifications & skills:

  • bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • At least 10 years of experience in production operations, within high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing environment.

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in production management software and tools.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certification is a plus.

  • Experience with manufacturing systems.

  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory requirements and standards.
