BCAA Senior Business Analyst in *Head Office, Canada

We are currently hiring a Senior Business Analyst, Customer & Integration Platforms based in our Head Office in Burnaby.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.

The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between business users and the information services division, translating critical business objectives into actionable technical solutions while mentoring junior analysts and coordinating BA activities. As a Senior Business Analyst, they ensure correct implementation and integration of technical solutions into BCAA's business processes. Additionally, they proactively identify opportunities to enhance operations, ensuring that the technical solution is implemented correctly, meets all defined requirements, and is seamlessly integrated into current or new business processes, ultimately aligning with BCAA's strategic goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Conducts stakeholder interviews and gathers user requirements;

  • Communicates business objectives effectively, fostering stakeholder engagement and consensus building;

  • Aligns business strategy with IS standards, technology opportunities, and investigating strategic IT solutions;

  • Analyzes existing systems for effectiveness and efficiency, developing improvement strategies;

  • Translates diverse business needs into recommended solutions and alternative options;

  • Develops comprehensive business requirements for system development;

  • Acts as a subject matter expert for IT personnel, providing system rule clarification;

  • Generates reports with process findings and recommended improvements;

  • Reviews maintenance items for duplication, correction feasibility, resource impact, and timing;

  • Mentors new team members by reviewing their requirements and providing guidance;

  • Prioritizes system work requests from assigned business areas based on value and alignment with corporate objectives;

  • Manages requirement status throughout the software development lifecycle to meet timing deadlines and divisional needs;

  • Prepares documentation and monitors daily progress of assigned tasks for regular meetings;

  • Collaborates with external vendors to ensure BCAA's system needs are met, and changes are delivered on time.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • 7+ years of experience in Business Systems Analysis or a related field;

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 software (Excel, Word, Teams, etc) as well as the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence);

  • Familiarity with various system development lifecycles (e.g., waterfall model, Agile) is essential;

  • Proficient in formal software testing approaches and methodologies, with demonstrated experience in providing direction and coaching to others.

  • Bonus Skills!

  • Experience with Business Analysis in Salesforce and Integrations;

  • Expertise in data modeling using relational databases and advanced SQL skills;

  • PMP certification;

  • IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) certification.

The salary range for this position is $103,506.96 to $129,383.64 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
