Job Overview

Develop and maintain a detailed economic and technological knowledge of the Solar Energy vertical market. Evaluate approaches and methods to be utilized to profitably build demand & increase sales penetration in this market. Has responsibility for supporting and growing sales of assigned house accounts, customer presentations, demonstrations, achieving standards/specification approvals and helping to develop marketing programs crafted to gain market share. Maintain close contact with top customers to ensure alignment in strategy and New Product Development. Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and presenting Hubbell/Burndy Products written specifications at Engineering Firms, EPC’s, Contractors, and other end users in the solar market vertical.

A Day In The Life

  • Maintain and analyze specific end customers databases, top engineers/specifiers database, and participate with sales management in setting sales strategies and goals.

  • Ownership role in identifying specification opportunities and collaborating with the local sales reps to follow through to completion of being added to specifications.

  • Responsible for maintaining Reed database and CRM program for projects and pipeline within vertical and be the project lead for key projects from Phase 0 to completion working with the local field sales team ensuring Hubbell's success in supplying full portfolio of products on the project.

  • Perform presentations at top Engineers/Specifiers to ensure Hubbell products are specified.

  • Serve as the Hubbell Solar Market "Specialist" and as such make sure Hubbell products are keeping with industry standards and specifications.

  • Responsible for working with applicable Business Unit leaders to help provide market forecasts to aid production.

  • Post current standards on Share Point and alert field sales to changes in standards.

  • Assist in developing new products with Product Managers with the applicable vertical market to support successful introduction to the market

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor degree preferred with 10 years of relevant field experience or high school/associate degree with 12-14 plus years of relevant field experience.
