Actalent Software Engineer in Hazelwood, Missouri

Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description

Create maintainable software supporting training and simulation product lines, including rendering, shading, lighting, load balancing, weather effects, animation, multi-threading, anti-aliasing, dynamic paging, display interfaces, and more. Develop and extend our next-generation products. The team operates in an agile, test-driven, and multi-disciplinary environment, incorporating all facets of software development from communication, requirements assessment, research, design, development, testing, integration, peer review, documentation, maintenance, and end user support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software for training and simulation products.

  • Implement rendering, shading, lighting, load balancing, weather effects, and animation features.

  • Work on multi-threading, anti-aliasing, dynamic paging, and display interfaces.

  • Participate in the development and extension of next-generation products.

  • Engage in all facets of software development including communication, requirements assessment, research, design, development, testing, integration, peer review, documentation, maintenance, and end user support.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in C++ programming.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine technology and game design.

  • Minimum of 5 years of Unreal Engine developer experience.

  • Strong object-oriented programming skills.

  • Familiarity with Unity and software engineering principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mathematics capability – matrix algebra, projective geometry, vector math, etc.

  • Experience with game development.

  • Knowledge of STL and/or Boost libraries and data structures.

  • Experience with design patterns and/or multi-threading.

  • Proficiency in MS Visual Studio.

Work Environment

These roles can be either on-site in Hazelwood, MO or remote. The work environment is agile, test-driven, and multi-disciplinary, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
