Ascend is currently seeking a BCBA to join our growing team of professionals within our center-based programs. In general, the BCBA will be responsible for new client evaluation / consultation, behavior assessments, developing treatment plans, on-going case management and ABA Behavior Tech supervision / mentoring. In addition, the BCBA will be traveling to and aiding in the opening of new center locations, as well as training new RBTs and clinical staff for those locations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop / update treatment plans, as necessary

  • Provide supervision of RBTs

  • Manage, oversee and implement 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis therapy that is performed primarily in the center-based environment. In-home and community-based services could be provided, as necessary

  • Prepare and facilitate on the job staff training

  • Minimize cancellations of scheduled sessions

  • Train family members / guardians on implementing the treatment plan

  • Participate in team meetings and training workshops

  • Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work

  • Follow the policies and procedures of Ascend Autism Group

  • Abide by BACB guidelines, rules, and regulations

  • Collaborate with multiple team members across centers while also being able to work autonomously

  • Under direct leadership of Ascend’s Clinical Director and management team, assist on ad hoc temporary engagements across any of Ascend Autism’s locations

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst

  • Must hold a current New York State License (NY LBA) and be willing to obtain additional LBAs, as necessary

  • Experience working in center-based ABA programs. Experience in-home and/or community-based ABA programs is a plus

  • Experience supervising paraprofessionals implementing ABA based treatment programs

  • Experience working with children aged 2-16

  • Experience conducting family trainings on ABA-based treatment plans

  • Must live in Southern NY or Southern CT – commuting distance to Hawthorne, NY

  • Able and willing travel away from home for up to 3 weeks per month

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Enthusiastic personality that will engage clients.

  • Excellent verbal communication, written communication and interpersonal skills with adults and clients.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with BCBAs, support staff, parents/guardians, and clients in a positive and constructive way.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

  • Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate curriculum.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required for recordkeeping and documentation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting throughout the home and/or classroom.

  • Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time.

  • Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
