Amentum Tire Repairperson in Hawthorne, Nevada

Amentum is seeking a Tire Repairperson to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Tire Repairperson will repair routine punctures and other minor causes of flat tires. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Typical Responsibilities Include :

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  • May be required to work overtime

  • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

  • Inspect tires to determine type repair(s) required.

  • Change flat or defective tires on automotive engineering equipment and trucks.

  • Repair routine punctures and other minor causes of flat tires.

  • Follow Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials.

  • Accomplish work with a minimum of supervisory guidance, applying accepted craft or trade techniques, good housekeeping practices, and safe, efficient work procedures.

  • Maybe required to perform duties of higher or lower difficulty

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility

  • Uphold company values (Safety, Diversity, Integrity and Success). Maintain high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations

  • Responsible for reporting actual and potential safety and environmental concerns.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.

  • Good writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to operate a computerized based terminal.

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.

  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.

  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months experience in vehicle servicing or tire repair is desirable.

  • The ability to perform minor maintenance on various size trailers is preferred

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam, and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.
