Amentum Industrial Hygienist in Hawthorne, Nevada
Amentum is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Industrial Hygienist will be responsible for work site inspections, identifying occupational health hazards, track and mitigate the same.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsible for work site inspections, identifying occupational health hazards, track and mitigate the same.
Conducts routine industrial hygiene surveys for noise and air contaminants.
Ensures compliance with company, state and federal regulatory standards and regulations.
Develops recommendations to correct and/or mitigate identified occupational health hazards.
Develops recommendations to correct and/or mitigate identified occupational health hazards.
Prepares detailed reports on reoccurring basis to ensure worksite remains compliant with state and federal government regulations.
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene required.
Certified Industrial Hygienist ( CIH ) required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
Must be 18 years or older. and able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver's license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.
Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to solve complex problems and understand the impact of decisions upon the operation on the facility.
Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize projects, adapting to changes as they occur.
Ability to speak publicly and communicate clearly during normal and crisis situations.
Ability to read and comprehend explicit operating procedures and processes.
Conduct oneself with responsibility, integrity, accountability, and adhere to employee conduct expectations.
Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
Must be willing and able to work in a procedurally compliant environment.
Must be willing and able to work in an environmental and safety compliant environment.
Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
Demonstrated willingness to be a team player and takes initiatives to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain required training in accordance with Amentum’s Master Training Plan.
Must be able to complete all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in work management/control.
Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Experience working in a hazardous materials environment.
Prior supervisory experience.
Experience working in a production atmosphere.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.
