Aston Carter Sr. Staff Accountant in Hauppauge, New York
Join Our Growing Team as a Senior Staff Accountant!
Are you a dynamic accounting professional ready to take your career to the next level? We are on the hunt for a Senior Staff Accountant with a robust understanding of accounting principles and GAAP to join our vibrant team. If you have 4-6 years of accounting experience—especially in job cost or construction—and are a whiz with advanced Excel, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
Dive into daily, monthly, and year-end accounting operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Prepare and review essential financial information, including income statements, balance sheets, and management reports.
Take the lead in crafting monthly financial statements and reports that drive business decisions.
Play a key role in quarterly and annual audits, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures.
Perform detailed General Ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies with a keen eye for detail.
Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules to maintain accurate records.
Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow through daily analysis, ensuring accuracy across financial records.
Provide support and guidance on general ledger inquiries from other departments.
Mentor junior staff and share your expertise, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Contribute to the enhancement of our accounting and audit processes, always looking for improvements.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Deep knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP.
4-6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in job cost or construction.
Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables, filters, sorting, and VLOOKUP.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in job cost or construction fields is a big plus.
Familiarity with Vista by Viewpoint accounting software? Even better!
CPA or Master’s degree? Let’s talk!
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team.

Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive pay range: $78,000 - $82,000 annually.
