This Position is for a 2nd Shift Supervisor -- Maintenance with a company in Hattiesburg, MS.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of Maintenance Technicians and Electro-Mechanics, providing leadership in planning and executing maintenance activities that support the Engines Assembly, Engines Machining, and Home Energy divisions. The role combines tactical and strategic responsibilities to address both operational and project-based needs. The person in this role ensures that equipment required for high-complexity assembly processes operates efficiently across the facility. This includes managing the work order system to prioritize and address emergency, planned, and project-based tasks. Additionally, the role focuses on ensuring team compliance with safety standards and facilitating training to promote skill development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Monitoring and Reliability: Monitor equipment condition to meet plant production goals and ensure alignment between inventory repair components and production/maintenance requirements. Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to guarantee equipment reliability. Utilize SAP-generated reports to track and maintain accurate records of maintenance labor, equipment repairs, and required components.

Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead and support a maintenance team of up to 20 members, handling daily supervisory responsibilities such as payroll, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Identify staff support needs and recommend training opportunities to enhance team performance. Promote a customer-focused mindset and a sense of urgency in all team activities.

Work Order Management: Plan and allocate resources for all work orders to ensure timely resolution of equipment issues and adherence to scheduled work. Arrange expedited shipping as needed to minimize production downtime. Review and recommend inventory stocking levels and process work orders in real-time.

Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities by analyzing repeat issues and optimizing labor, repair parts, and tool crib supplies. Manage plant repairable spares and tooling programs to reduce costs. Ensure the use of appropriate machine parts for specific operational applications and monitor supply costs and usage.

Project Involvement: Actively participate in engineering, automation, and process improvement projects. Ensure proper equipment specifications, qualified contractors, and appropriate labor resources are planned to meet project schedules.

Predictive Maintenance and Restoration: Utilize predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic monitoring, and MTBF reports to evaluate and implement equipment retrofits and TPM restoration. Continuously improve operational reliability through proactive maintenance activities.

Facility System Maintenance: Collaborate with the Facility Supervisor to maintain optimal performance of plant systems, including switchgear, air compressors, and fire protection systems. Use predictive maintenance and OEM guidelines to prevent unplanned failures.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with product-related regulations, including the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulation, and California Health and Safety Code.

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises Electro-Mechanics, Sr. Electro-Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians.

Qualifications: Minimum 5 years in manufacturing, 3 years in management or leadership role. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Electrical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure compliance with safety stan ards.

Technical Training: Formal training or certifications in hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic or advanced electrical systems preferred.

Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to accurately read and analyze mechanical and electrical blueprints or diagrams.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage a team of maintenance professionals to achieve operational goals.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with production, engineering, and management teams.

Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying root causes of equipment issues and implementing effective solutions. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $76050 - $96050. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
