RKSK Farms Livestock Worker/Ranch Hand in Hastings, Minnesota
Need 1 full time, temporary, seasonal Livestock Worker/Ranch Hand to work in Hastings, MN. FROM: 11/01/2024 to 04/01/2025. WORK: 48 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 8 hrs./day All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of time and a half, per Minnesota law. Overtime and/or work on Federal Holidays is not mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 01/16/2025 JOB DUTIES: Perform any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock; Maintain heated watering system. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals, Apply medications to cuts and bruises. Wash and clip livestock to prepare them for calving. Assist veterinarian in delivery of offspring. Clean livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain buildings, equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, fences and yards. Maintain growth, feeding, production, and order supplies. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies. Work performed requires exposure to extreme temperatures. Repetitive movement is required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: One (1) month experience; must be able to lift and carry items up to 75 lb.; able to obtain driver's license within 30 days of hire; No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
