Job Summary:
Located at the Gurgaon office, performs tasks involved in market research with respect to the ferrous and non-ferrous metals, other major raw materials, package equipment and bulks. Also arrange with suppliers and the ongoing projects regularly to understand the real time impact of market trends.

- Reports to and receives operational direction from the assigned supervisor

C. Contacts:
Maintains working relationships with project Supply Chain personnel and project discipline personnel in order to perform assigned duties.
Maintains working relationships with bidders and suppliers involved with the performance of assigned tasks.
Major Responsibilities:
Stays abreast with the current geopolitical situations around the world that have the potential to influence supply chains of projects in different geographical regions.
Performs research to understand market trends for base metals, steel and other commodities
Tracks and follows various metal and energy indexes like LME, MEPS, etc.
Tracks and understands spot and forward foreign currency exchange rates
Reviews updates from multiple third-party analysts on the market forecasts with respect to a range of commodities
Understands project package equipment and bulks purchased in different business units
Communicates with global suppliers to understand their shop loads, lead times, key sub-suppliers & their locations, means of transport, supply chain disruptions, etc.
Communicates with project supply chain personnel and understands issues at the pre and post award stage, that are impacting the overall price, lead times.
Analyses the information and data from third party analysts and rewrites or summarizes it in graphical or any other manner for easy understanding by the supply chain personnel
Analyses data from commodity indexes and presents it in a graphical or tabular form
Understands different supply chain dimensions in an EPC work environment and can review and understand the bid tabulations
Understands purchasing basics and has the ability to understand the purchasing and services terms and conditions
Understands global shipping terms including incoterms, etc.
Accountable for data integrity and records management from multiple sources.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputed University. Post-graduate specialization in Supply Chain Management preferred. 8-10 years of relevant industry experience in a reputed company with good communication skills.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Well versed with bidder pre-qualification process, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order formation and administration.
Skilled in oral and written communication
Ability to understand and analyse market trends
Understanding of different phases of procurement and capability to understand the supplier schedules and deficiencies.
Knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement.
