How will you make an impact in this role?

As a Senior Analyst of Commercial Data Management you will use your corporate knowledge along with your expertise in Data Management to ensure we deliver high quality data to power critical initiatives as well as impress our GCS customers by meeting and exceeding their data needs. You will work collaboratively with global multi-functional teams, including business and technology partners and team members to increase the value of our data. You will play a key role in modernizing the management of our GCS data assets and implementing an inspirational Commercial Data Governance program! By providing support for GCS data stewards while collaborating with the Enterprise Data Office this will ensure alignment and consistency within our Commercial Data Governance practices. You will drive key data components of our strategy, roadmap, services and tooling for Data Management functions like security, privacy, data policies and data sharing.

The ideal candidate for this role will be detail oriented, organized, enjoy interacting with colleagues across the company in a complex, fast-paced environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor in the face of challenges. In addition, they will ensure a customer-centric approach is top of mind when implementing data capabilities to support GCS goals.

Responsibilities

  • 3 years of direct work experience in large scale data projects with traditional databases.

  • In-depth knowledge of data management concepts and practices such as data security, data quality, meta data, reference data, master data.

  • Solid background in Data Governance concepts and frameworks required.

  • Understanding of privacy, risk, compliance and regulatory concerns and ability to articulate the impact to partners and team members.

  • Proven hands-on experience solving data and process related problems.

  • Foundation in data modeling concepts and skills to interpret data modeling diagrams

  • Good attention to detail with a steadfast focus on delivering accurately, efficiently, and with high quality.

  • Proven track record of thought leadership and influencing, collaborating with global, multi-functional teams to produce significant results.

  • Ability to facilitate discussions across a range of participants from technical members to business partners, across all levels in the organization.

  • Confident tackling high importance initiatives that are ambiguous in nature, driving them to completion with minimal direction and demonstrating a sense of ownership.

  • Exceptional ability to demonstrate good judgement and structured, quick decision-making, with the ability to drive and deliver on multiple priorities simultaneously while working both collaboratively and independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, capacity to articulate sophisticated data management solutions in a clear, concise way to a diverse audience.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Willing to challenge the status quo, learn new skills, innovate and have fun in the process.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, other technical or business subject area, or five years of equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing Data Governance programs.

  • Experience working in Big Data repositories.

  • Familiarity with Agile project methodology and tools such as Rally/Jira.

  • Project Management experience and Microsoft Project expertise.
