Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Radiology Tech will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, on patients. They will operate imaging equipment, prepare patients for procedures, and ensure that images are of high quality and accurately capture the necessary information. The Radiology Tech will also maintain patient records and ensure that equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Essential Position Duties:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, on patients.
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure that images are of high quality and accurately capture the necessary information.
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Maintain patient records and ensure that equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
- Prepares room for examination.
- Checks physicians orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures.
- Ensures confidentiality of client information.
- Acquires and documents pertinent clinical information from EMR and/or patient assessment.
- Produces radiographs using current accepted radiographic techniques for optimal film quality at minimal radiation exposure to patient in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Assembles completed radiographic exams with appropriate file.
- Complies with HIPAA and JCAHO regulations and guidelines.
- Complies with agencys Mission.
- Must maintain appropriate attendance.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
- Six (6) months directly related experience within a hospital or clinical setting
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
