job summary:

Purpose of the position:

  • Manages the end-to-end system maintenance, production and development of engineering large scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial systems including; Genesys Lotus Notes, PeopleSoft Engineering Modules, Vertex(tax), Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft D365, Oracle EPM, SAP BO, SSRS, and other Engineering ERP financial systems as required.

  • Provides technical business and system user functional support such as developing queries, reports and advanced system functions.

  • Works closely with Engineering management and IT to ensure efficient work distribution and service delivery.

  • Ensures maximization of system use and capacity to support current and changing business needs and provide recommendations on the implementation of new/revised operational and/or reporting processes.

  • Supervises staff who is responsible for production system processes including ad hoc maintenance, daily queries, revenue entries and month end close.

Functions:

  • 25% of time:

  • Manages the maintenance, production reporting, analysis and resolution of production support issues for the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system.

  • Prioritizes production issues raised and resolves accordingly.

  • Coordinates escalation, resolves major service issues and reports promptly to management and business partners regarding critical issues until resolution.

  • Works with staff to perform the production duties supporting NAV.

  • Manages Oracle EPM, engineering related modules and related interfaces.

  • 25% of time:

  • Manages development and maintenance of management reports (SAP BO, SSRS, and Oracle EPM) in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Works directly with management to provide additional information or data associated with these reports as requested.

  • Performs other special projects as requested.

  • Works with staff to productionalize finalized report maintenance.

  • 20% of time:

  • Manages the maintenance, production reporting, run and balance interface feeds, analysis and resolution of production support issues for the Genesys system.

  • Prioritizes production issues raised and resolves accordingly.

  • Coordinates escalation, resolves major service issues and reports promptly to management and business partners regarding critical issues until resolution.

  • 20% of time:

  • Manages the design, planning and development of system enhancements to satisfy Engineering business needs and improve system efficiencies and internal controls.

  • This function includes but is not limited to assessment, prioritization and coordination of changes to the Engineering ERP systems and related G/L interfaces, and financial/operational reporting.

  • Develops requirements, user acceptance testing and communicates system enhancements.

  • 10% of time:

  • Supervises staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 7+ years' experience as a financial systems analyst or similar role.

  • SQL programming experience is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent computer/internet aptitude and strong analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office suite

  • strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate to both business and technical experts at various levels throughout the organization

  • Working knowledge of large and mid-size ERP software packages (preferably PeopleSoft, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft D365, SAP BO, Oracle EPM, SSRS, and Power BI) and associated report writing and query functionality.

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, juggle multiple priorities, and be adaptive to change

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
