Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$151,300.00 - $249,600.00

What Is the Opportunity?

The Enterprise Talent Management (ETM) organization partners with business leaders and human resources generalists to execute talent management best practices to ensure Travelers has top tier talent to drive its business objectives. As the AVP, ETM Partner, you will collaborate with business, functional, and HR leaders to advance our practices and outcomes in leadership, team, and organization development. You will use your knowledge and expertise in leadership assessment and development, top talent development, talent and succession management, executive onboarding and coaching, and team effectiveness to drive high performance among people and teams. You will need to successfully navigate ambiguity and influence stakeholders at all levels to create and deliver talent and organizational effectiveness strategies focused on key business outcomes.

What Will You Do?

  • Top Talent and Talent Review Processes: Lead, support, and consult on the identification, assessment, and development of top talent at the mid and executive levels as a driver of our talent pool strategy.

  • Leadership Development: Consult with business leaders and HR on specific leadership gaps; partner with ETM Leadership Development on priority needs & solutions; help advance the skills of leaders in demonstrating the Travelers Leader Capabilities.

  • Team Effectiveness: Design and deliver team effectiveness engagements with senior teams to strengthen their performance and provide consultative support to HRBPs in connection with team effectiveness engagements among other teams.

  • Executive Onboarding: Partner with HRBPs and managers to assess, coach, and develop executives onboarding into new roles or who are members of our enterprise top talent pools.

  • Collaboration and Partnership : Leverage expertise in top talent, leadership, and team development to build trusted partnerships with senior business/functional leaders and HR leads, while collaborating with other ETM Partners to ensure consistency across the role.

  • Project and Vendor Management: Manage key projects of enterprise-wide scope for ETM and associated vendors, while leveraging and exposing ETM staff to serve business needs and increasing their capability and exposure.

  • Data Analytics: Leverage data and analytics, including feedback mechanisms, to monitor program outcomes, identify trends, and glean insights to continuously improve and inform strategic decision-making.

  • External Market Expertise : Utilize external market insights to identify trends, inform talent practices, and provide advice to senior leaders.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Master’s Degree in human resources, behavioral science, industrial/organizational psychology or a related field.

  • Expert facilitation skills with a high comfort level leading meetings and discussions of small and large groups including senior leadership teams.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships, collaborate and influence decisions across all levels of the organization.

  • Proven success acting as an internal consultant in a large, highly matrixed organization.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to capture metrics and produce reports to drive insights.

  • Proven success in coaching individual leaders.

  • Exceptional project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and follow through to meet deadlines without supervision.

  • Technological mindset with the willingness and ability to use state-of-the-art technologies supporting talent, learning and development, internal talent marketplace, and career and performance development.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources or related field.

  • Eight years of Human Resource experience with some experience in talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, leadership development, succession management, career development, and/or relationship management.
