We are seeking 3 Agricultural Equipment Operators to assist with general farm labor and the hand harvest of various vegetables, including but not limited to asparagus, carrots, broccoli, and zucchini. Responsibilities: - Operate tractors, planters, and other mechanized farm equipment for planting, cultivating, and harvesting vegetables. - Utilize farm equipment for cutting, pulling, digging, threshing, cleaning, chopping, bagging, or bundling harvested crops. - Manually or mechanically load and unload harvested vegetables and other materials using equipment such as conveyors or hand trucks. - Mow, cut, and weed fields, preparing and clearing land for planting by removing trash, rocks, and other debris. - Level land by moving dirt and other materials. - Operate a variety of equipment, including tractors, bulldozers, planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chainsaws, bobcats, skid loaders, and trucks. Equipment Management: - Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery mechanisms. - Adjust the speeds of cutters, blowers, and conveyors as well as the height of the cutting head. - Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, adjusting, repairing, and lubricating parts. Ensure fluid levels are maintained and check belt and conveyor tensions. - Repair or replace defective parts, and attach farm implements using hand tools. - May assist with additional general farm maintenance or repairs as needed. Irrigation and Pest Management: - Install and maintain irrigation systems, water lines, irrigation pipes, and equipment. - Dig and maintain ditches and install/remove levee gates. - Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and other crop protectants, as well as fertilizers and plant growth treatments at appropriate times based on plant type, growth stage, climate, and crop conditions. Safety Expectations: Workers must operate all equipment safely to protect themselves, others, and the employer's products and property. Non-compliance with safety protocols and operational instructions may lead to disciplinary actions, including immediate termination. Dress Code: Employees are required to wear assigned personal protective equipment when necessary and must report to work in suitable clothing and durable footwear. Workers who wear inappropriate clothing will not be permitted to start their shifts. Location: Work will be conducted in Oceana, Newaygo, and Mason Counties, Michigan.
