We have an opportunity available for a Senior Staff Accountant to work within our Finance Team. The Senior Staff Accou
ntant
is a key contributor to ensuring the financial statements are accurate and timely. The role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for making journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, analyzing account balances to provide insight on variances between budget and actual, maintaining strong internal controls, and other essential accounting functions. Works closely with team members across the Finance team and other departments.
What you will do:
- A/P Validation -- Reconcile Subledger to G/L and AP Debit Reclass Entries
- Accrued & Prepaid Expense Reconciliations -- audit readiness -- maintain detail subledger with invoice support reconciled to balances -- analyze activities related to accruals for Freight, Unclaimed Property, Medical, Audit, and Legal etc.
- A/R Validation - A/R Reconciliations/Allowance Entries & Debtor Structure
- reporting
- Contract/Progress Collections -- Maintain calculation files and supporting documentation; prepare journal entries and reconciliations monthly
- Support internal and/or external audits
- Recording journals and month end reconciliations for other general supporting functions including but not limited to such areas as: Payroll, Inventory, Cost Accounting, Projects, Accounts Payable, Employee Expenses, Intercompany etc.
- Cross train and other duties as assigned.

What we need:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA or MBA desired
3-5 years relevant accounting and month-end close experience
Detail oriented -- high degree of accuracy and speed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset
